Product Features

An oil‑immersed submersible electric pump is an integrated submersible unit whose motor cavity is filled with insulating cooling oil. The motor and pump share one shaft and operate fully submerged in water.

  1. Excellent cooling performance The motor chamber is filled with dedicated insulating cooling oil. Circulating oil dissipates heat from motor windings for stable thermal control. Compared with dry‑type submersible pumps, it is well‑suited for long‑duration continuous heavy‑duty operation, with superior temperature rise control under high‑head conditions.
  2. Reliable sealing protection Mechanical seals isolate pumped water from the motor oil cavity. The insulating oil also lubricates sealing components. The unit tolerates water with a small amount of fine sediment and reduces seal wear.
  3. Compact structure & easy installation The pump and motor form one integrated assembly. No separate ground‑level pump house, coupling or foundation frame is required. It can be lowered directly into wells, pools or water bodies, saving space and simplifying site work.
  4. Low operating noise Fully submerged underwater, the pump is insulated from vibration and noise by surrounding water, producing barely‑audible noise above ground.
  5. Compatible with high‑head applications Multi‑stage impeller design paired with an oil‑filled motor delivers high lift capacity, matching the QY‑series oil‑immersed submersible pumps in the parameter table for deep‑well long‑distance water lifting.
  6. Limitations
  • If the mechanical seal fails, internal insulating oil may leak into water. It must NOT be used for potable‑water supply.
  • Periodic oil inspection, top‑up and replacement are required, meaning higher maintenance workload than dry‑type pumps.
  • Not suitable for wastewater carrying large volumes of coarse sand or hard debris, as particles will rapidly abrade impellers and seals.

Application Scenarios

  1. Agricultural irrigation (primary use) Water extraction from shallow wells, large‑diameter wells, rivers and reservoirs for farmland, orchard and nursery irrigation. Supports continuous high‑volume pumping for large‑scale farmland, ideal for QY‑series oil‑immersed submersible pumps.
  2. Water supply & drainage projects Temporary water supply for construction sites, circulation for landscape rivers and lakes, pond water replenishment and reservoir water intake.
  3. Industrial non‑potable water transfer Industrial circulating water, tailing drainage with low fine‑sediment content and non‑drinking industrial water supply.
  4. Groundwater extraction Medium‑and‑small‑scale groundwater withdrawal from wells (for non‑potable use only).

❗Not applicable: domestic tap‑water / drinking‑water supply (risk of oil contamination); heavy sewage and water loaded with substantial sand, gravel or fibrous waste.

Maintenance Guidelines

  1. Insulating‑oil inspection and replacement
  • Inspect the oil cavity after the first 500 operating hours for new units. Afterwards, test insulating oil every 2000 operating hours or once per year.
  • Drain all old oil and refill with special submersible‑pump insulating cooling oil if oil becomes emulsified by water ingress or turns black.
  1. Seal inspection Regularly measure motor insulation resistance. A sharp drop in insulation resistance usually indicates mechanical‑seal damage and water penetration into the oil chamber. Disassemble and replace mechanical seal parts.
  2. Impeller and pump‑chamber cleaning During seasonal shutdowns (off‑peak irrigation periods), lift the pump out of water. Clear sediment and water weeds from impellers and pump housing to prevent jamming.
  3. Power‑cable check Examine submersible power cable for cracks and outer‑jacket damage. Cable joints must never sit submerged in water. Damaged cabling creates electric‑shock hazards.
  4. Long‑term storage Do not leave the pump submerged in silty water for extended downtime. Rinse thoroughly and store upright in dry, well‑ventilated conditions. Avoid horizontal placement to prevent uneven oil pooling.

Operating Precautions

  1. Medium requirements For clean water or water carrying limited fine sediment; sediment content in pumped water ≤0.1%. Liquid temperature ≤40 °C. Do not pump strongly corrosive acidic or alkaline fluids.
  2. No dry‑running Start and run the pump only when it is fully under water. Exposed pump sections lose cooling and the motor will burn out quickly. Shut down promptly if water level falls.
  3. Power‑supply protection Equip the system with earth‑leakage protection, overload protection and phase‑loss protection. Three‑phase pumps burn out rapidly under phase‑loss conditions. Keep supply‑voltage fluctuation within ±10 % of rated voltage.
  4. Startup constraints Frequent on‑off cycling damages mechanical seals from hydraulic shock. Allow at least 5‑minute intervals between consecutive starts.
  5. Installation requirements Maintain minimum 30 cm clearance between pump bottom and well/pool bottom to avoid drawing in bottom silt. Ensure suction inlet is not fully blocked by mud or aquatic plants.
  6. Electrical safety Reliably ground the complete unit. Cut off power completely before any underwater installation or inspection to prevent electric shock.
  7. Oil‑leak response Shut down the pump immediately if an oil film appears on the water surface. Inspect for broken seals. Continued operation risks water pollution and permanent motor failure。
