The pump starts automatically on water demand and stops when water supply is cut off, with no manual intervention needed.

Routine Maintenance

  1. Regular pipeline sealing inspection Check inlet / outlet pipes and sealing gaskets monthly. Air leakage in suction piping will degrade self‑priming performance and cause failure to draw water. Replace aged gaskets promptly.
  2. Protection against sediment and impurities Narrow flow passages inside the vortex impeller are sensitive to sediment. Install a filter on the suction side to avoid particle jamming the impeller, and clean the filter screen periodically.
  3. Inspection for motor and pressure tank Keep the motor housing well‑ventilated and free of dust. Inspect power cables for damage. Check the 2‑L pressure tank, verify correct automatic start‑stop behaviour, and troubleshoot pre‑charge pressure if pressure output becomes abnormal.
  4. Long‑term shutdown storage Drain all water inside pump cavity during long idle periods. Fully drain water under low‑temperature conditions to prevent frost cracking of cast‑iron pump housing. Store in dry and ventilated place.
  5. Abnormal noise and bearing service Carry out annual inspection. Listen for friction noise during running. Replace bearings immediately when abnormal noise occurs to avoid pump‑shaft wear.

Usage Notes

  1. Medium requirements Only for pumping clean fresh water. Do NOT pump sediment‑laden sewage, corrosive fluids or oily liquids. Fine sediment may jam impeller and burn out motor. Liquid temperature must not exceed 60 °C.
  2. Dry‑running forbidden Fill pump chamber with priming water before first startup. Dry‑running without water is strictly prohibited, as it will rapidly damage the mechanical seal.
  3. Power‑supply requirements Maintain operating voltage within ±10 % of rated value. When thermal protection shuts down the unit, allow natural motor cooling; do not force repeated power‑on.
  4. Pressure limitation System working pressure shall never exceed 8 bar to avoid rupture of pump housing and piping.
  5. Installation requirements Mount pump horizontally. Keep suction piping as short as possible and reduce elbows to minimize flow resistance. Suction pipeline must remain fully air‑tight; air leakage will disable self‑priming function.
  6. Electrical safety Reliable earthing is mandatory. IPX4 rating only defends against splashing water. Never rinse motor and wiring components directly with water. Apply extra waterproof measures in humid locations.
  7. Anti‑rust inspection Check outer‑surface rust of cast‑iron pump body for long‑term operation in humid environments. Apply supplementary anti‑rust treatment if necessary.
  8. Working‑condition reminder This is a low‑flow high‑head self‑priming pump and is not suitable for large‑volume water delivery. Select standard centrifugal pump or jet pump for high‑flow demands.
