This is a battery‑free solar water‑lifting system, suitable for remote areas without grid power. Solar energy is converted into stored water in an elevated tank, realizing all‑day water supply by gravity.

System Components

  • Solar photovoltaic panels: convert sunlight into direct‑current (DC) electricity
  • Solar pump inverter (power conditioning unit): system controller with MPPT function

Full Working Process

  1. Solar power generation
    Sunlight hits solar panels. Photovoltaic effect converts solar radiation into DC electricity. Output power changes with sunlight intensity.
  2. Power conditioning by inverter
    Unstable DC power goes into the solar pump inverter. It runs MPPT maximum‑power‑point tracking, converts DC into three‑phase AC power for the pump motor. It automatically adjusts pump speed according to sunlight level, and provides over‑voltage, over‑current and dry‑run protection.
  3. Underwater submersible pump lifts groundwater
    AC power is transmitted down‑hole to the submersible deep‑well pump which is fully submerged in underground water. The motor drives impellers to pump groundwater upward through delivery pipes to ground level.
  4. Water stored in elevated tank
    Pumped water flows into the elevated water storage tank for water reserve.
  5. Gravity‑driven water supply
    Water in the high‑level tank is supplied to users by gravity. Water is still available after sunset, even without solar power input.

Important Precautions

  • Solar pump inverter: Install in ventilated rain‑proof enclosure. Complete earthing and lightning protection. Do not run without pump load. Dry‑run protection stops pump at low water level.
